Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.
When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?
My Thoughts...
I put off reading this for a long time because I wasn't a huge fan of Wings, but I have seen such good things said about this series that I felt I had to give them another chance. Let me just say I am so glad I did! I enjoyed gong into Avalon with Laurel, and getting to see what fairey life will be like if/when she decides to live in Avalon for good. I also loved Tamani I love him in the first book and still do, I enjoyed that we saw so much of him in this book. Watching Laurel's mom struggle with the fact that her daughter is a faerie added a touch of realism to this story in my opinion. I never was a huge David fan and really wish Laurel would decide to be with Tamani, but for the most part David is sweet and supportive of Laurel and her Faerie ways. I am dying to get started on Illusions to see what happens next. I give this one 4 stars.
Lovely review. I've had my eye on this series for a while. Now I know to keep going.
